An invitation to Harbor Pointe Middle School's 8th Grade Celebration on June 16, 2026, at 11 AM & 6 PM.

HPMS INVITES YOU TO THE 8TH GRADE RECOGNITION ASSEMBLY ON JUNE 16TH

HPMS Invites you to the 8th Grade Recognition Assembly on June 16th from 11:00–12:00 in the gym for an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments and milestones of our 8th grade students. This will be a chance to honor their achievements, growth, and resilience in an event filled with awards, student speeches, and fun memories. At the conclusion of the assembly there will be a short opportunity for you to greet your student and take a picture before they head off to lunch.

8TH GRADE PARTY

You will have another opportunity on the 16th to celebrate your 8th grade student at our Family Celebration from 6:00-6:45. This event is for families to visit with friends and HP Staff Members. There is no formal program. Families are able to move around the school at their own pace, enjoy refreshments, socialize, view the 8th grade slideshow and display boards, check out party decorations, take pictures and then say goodbye to your 8th grader before their final middle school party!

At the conclusion of the family celebration, families will be asked to head out while students stick around for the student only 8th grade party. The event is free and is the 8th graders’ final party together as middle school students. Food and beverages will be available at no cost and we will have a photo booth and a DJ for students to dance the night away. Students must be picked up at 9:00pm.

LAPTOP INSTRUCTIONS

As the school year ends, schools will collect computer devices from all eighth graders moving up to high school, graduating seniors and any students leaving the district. Other middle and high school students may keep their devices over the summer.

We will collect laptops from 8th grade students on June 10. Laptops belonging to 6th & 7th grade students that are not returning will be collected on June 15. Devices and/or power adapters that are not returned or damaged WILL be charged a fine.

Taking care of your district laptop during summer
  • Keep it clean: Avoid eating or drinking near your laptop to prevent spills
  • Store it safely: Keep your laptop in a safe, dry place when not in use. Consider using a protective case or sleeve
  • Charge and restart: Use you MSD charger and unplug once fully charged to avoid overcharging. Restart your computer regularly, especially before returning to school to get security updates.

WEB - Where Everybody Belongs

WEB Training Date Change for 2026–2027 WEB Leaders

Please note that the WEB Leader summer training dates have changed. Originally scheduled for August 25 and August 28, training will now take place on August 27 and August 28 due to a district calendar adjustment to the “Back to Business” day that occurred after WEB applications were distributed. While this pushes training back slightly, it also allows the two training days to take place consecutively, which is more beneficial for team building, preparation, and getting WEB leaders ready for 6th Grade Orientation. If these updated dates create a conflict for your student, please contact Miss Rutter or Mrs. Zugel as soon as possible. We are excited for another great year of WEB leadership!

WEB End-of-Year Bingo Party

Attention 6th Graders and WEB Leaders! The final WEB event of the school year is coming up on Wednesday, June 3rd after school until 4:00 PM! WEB leaders will be hosting bingo for their 6th grade groups with snacks, prizes, and lots of fun as we celebrate an awesome school year together. This is the final required WEB event for current WEB leaders.

WEB Leader Celebration

WEB leaders will also have an additional celebration after school on June 11th to celebrate all their hard work throughout the year. Attendance for the June 11th celebration is optional, but we hope to see everyone there!

Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling ASB Summer Camp

Hello Mukilteo School District Families,

The Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling program is excited to announce our first ever 2026 Girls Wrestling Summer Camp, taking place June 30th – July 2nd.

Please note: while this camp is being hosted and run by the Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling program, it will be held at the MARINER High School Wrestling Room due to fire alarm system updates currently taking place at Kamiak High School this summer.

This camp is designed specifically for girls entering 1st–12th grade and will focus on foundational wrestling skills, confidence building, and growing the sport of girls wrestling in a positive and supportive environment.

The camp will be led by:
  • Ally De La Cruz – Kamiak Alumni & 2017 Girls State Champion
  • Sophie Averill – Woodinville High School Head Coach
  • Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling Coaches assisting with supervision and coaching throughout camp

At Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling, we believe wrestling should build more than athletes. We focus on creating an environment where girls are challenged, supported, and empowered to grow in confidence both on and off the mat. Our philosophy centers around effort, resilience, sportsmanship, and helping athletes discover what they are capable of through hard work and community.

This camp is a great opportunity for both new and experienced wrestlers to:
  • Build strong wrestling fundamentals
  • Learn from accomplished female wrestlers and coaches
  • Train in a girls-focused environment
  • Develop confidence and leadership skills
  • Connect with and grow the girls wrestling community
  • Camp Information:
  • Cost: $150 per wrestler
  • Dates: June 30th, July 1st, July 2nd
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Grades: 1st–12th Grade Girls Only
  • Location: MARINER High School Wrestling Room
  • Wrestlers should bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and wrestling shoes each day

Attendance

Attendance is an important factor in your child’s success in their education journey! That said, we are aware that sometimes it is unavoidable to miss school. While there are many reasons students may be absent, there is only ONE thing you need to do when it happens:

Please be sure to contact the attendance office by phone or email, 24hrs a day to report your student’s absence. Include your child’s name, grade, and reason for missing school. 425.366.5105, or HPAttendance@mukilteo.wednet.edu

If you know in advance that your student will be absent for one day or more, please complete the prearranged absence form at this LINK, or find it in another language on the district website. Be sure to choose the middle school option from the list of choices.

Thank you for helping us keep our attendance records accurate!

Absences

If your student is absent, it is important to excuse the absence by doing one of the following:

  1. A written note from the parent/guardian for an excused absence must be received within two school days following a return to school. Administrators may request doctor’s verification for excessive absences.
  2. A phone call from the parent or guardian if a student will be absent. Email HPAttendance@mukilteo.wednet.edu or call the 24-hour attendance line at 425-366-5105. When returning from an absence, a student should always get an “Admit to Class” pass from Student Services. Give this pass to your teacher. If the parent phoned in earlier, or if the student brings a signed excuse, the absence is excused. To avoid having the absence recorded as unexcused; students have one additional day after returning to school to bring a signed note from a parent or guardian.

Pre-Arranged Absences

We would like to remind you that for vacation/travel absences, a Pre-Arranged Absence Form must be filled out and returned to Student Services at least one week prior to travel. If you know that your student will be absent, please ask them to get a form from the Student Services office. Your student will need to bring the form to each of their classes for teacher signatures, then collect a parent's signature before returning it to Student Services for administrator consideration.

Early Pick-Up Procedure

Regular attendance is crucial for students' academic success. We encourage families not to schedule appointments during school hours, although we understand that it may be unavoidable at times. If you need to pick up your student early from school, we require some time to retrieve them from their class. Kindly notify us at least ONE DAY PRIOR by calling (425) 366-5105, or emailing HPAttendance@mukilteo.wednet.edu with:
  • Your student's name
  • Date & time of student's pick up
  • Reason for leaving school early
Provided with sufficient advance notice for pick-up, we will have your student waiting for you at Student Services at the specified time, saving you from waiting.

(More information can be found in our handbook online.)

GOOD TO KNOW

Scent Awareness

Scented products can trigger serious health reactions in people with asthma, bronchitis, migraines, allergies or chemical sensitivities. Please remind your students to maintain a healthy environment for everyone by not spraying scented products while at school.
A sign reads 'Notice Fragrance Free Zone' with a red circle and slash through a perfume bottle.

MSD Online Payment Portal

If your student is participating in clubs, sports, Band, Choir, or Orchestra, they must purchase a $15.00 ASB membership. If you purchased your PE clothes online, please see our Bookkeeper, located in the Great Hall. Yearbooks will be distributed at then end of the school year.

DO YOUR STUDENTS OWE FEES AND FINES?
Please check if your students have fees and fines. There might be charges for lost/damaged books, club fees, or athletic uniforms that were not returned. Any fines and fees carryover from year to year. It’s best to clear these up now. Please click HERE or scan the QR code to check your student’s account.

Activity Bus Info

  • Students must be a regular bus rider (live within the school bus boundaries)
  • There is one Activity Bus.
  • Students need to know their address.
  • There are limited stops on the route, so it may not be your child's regular stop but somewhat close in proximity, although they may have to walk a bit more to their home.
  • Students may ask the bus drivers to find out which bus they should take and what stop they should get off.
  • This is NOT your student's regular bus route. Depending on when your student's stop is, they could arrive home after 5:00PM.
  • The Activity Bus will leave at 4:10PM from the front of the school.
A yellow school bus is parked in a lot with a blue sky in the background.
A hand reaches out to receive a brown cardboard package, with the word 'Deliveries' in large white letters above.

Deliveries

Items to be delivered to a student during the school day may be placed on the appropriate grade-level shelf located in the vestibule for student pick-up at passing or lunchtime. Please make sure food items arrive in time for a student’s lunch; we cannot guarantee they will have time to eat it otherwise. Staff is not responsible for deliveries or messages unless there is an emergency. Flowers, balloons, and special food treats are not permitted at school due to disruption of learning.

Snacks

Thanks to the generosity of the PTO, we are able to maintain a stock of snacks for students who need extra nourishment during day. As the school year has gotten started, we have seen more and more students getting snacks. We’re especially seeing our sixth graders getting snacks in the afternoon, probably because their lunch time is so early in the day. If families are able, we encourage them to pack extra snacks for their students so that we can maintain the supply for students in need.

If your family needs assistance with food, clothing, or other basic needs, please reach out to Raylin Lucey, the Student Support Advocate at Harbour Pointe Middle School. You can contact him through the SSA Referral Form or by emailing luceyrj@mukilteo.wednet.edu. He is here to connect you with local resources that may be able to provide support.
